Ok so im still on the hunt for my xj and I found another one bu this one is not running. It;s a 98 and the reason its not running because it was in a slight accident doesn't look bad but the airbags deployed. He said he drove it home and it never worked again. He said it's either some wiring issue or he thinks its because the bags deployed. Could having the bags deployed cause that and if not any advice? I know accident vehicles tend to have wiring issues but is there anything i can check real quick to see what it is. I don't have a voltmeter I sold it. Thanks for the advice in advance. I have pics of the jeep but i would have to text you the pics. It's a 98 and it looks like a light hit on the driver front fender.

Ok,

Did not know infantry was there. I was there long ago, all I recall was ADA and the 3rd ACR whom we in ADA referred to as the 3rd Herd. LOL

I have not been there since the late 80's.

Good luck in your search for an XJ

Find a good one and tear up that desert! LOL

Yea the post has gotten a whole new make over. The guys who just got back from deployment didn't even recognize the post and they were only gone a year. Bet you would probably drive right past it and wouldnt even know it. lol as soon as i get my xj thats exactly what i plan on doing.

I dont think that an air bag deployment it self would cause the vehicle not to run but I am not really sure.If that is the case it would be the first time I have ever hear of that.
My taurus has an electrical fuel cut off in the trunk that is triggered by sudden impacts made on the vehicle.I wonder if jeeps have a similar set up?

Dont buy that xj man... Its just a mess waiting to happen, because anything with an airbag deployed is a ticking time bomb. With an accident involved, anything can be messed up and internal parts can be damaged without knowledge of it. Thats just my advice

No it should run fine with the airbag deployed. Mine deployed and I just cut it out,and took out the airbag light and never looked back.
If you are serious about wheeling the airbags should go any way other wise you can hit a big bump and get smacked in the face like me

And I would look rite behind the control arms to see if they are pushed back along with any other damage to the unibody frame
