Default NEED HELP 911, Throttle sticking almost crashed!!

My 1990 XJ Renix, just went crazy on the way home from school. My dad and I looked at all the vacuum lines, the TPS and the throttle linkage. Started up and ran fine for a few minutes then idled way up to 3k again. It has been a bit sluggish when accelerating ( I thought is was due to the excess weight of mud) but it seems to want to bust out when I stomp down to clear it out. Any suggestions, I need it for work and school.

Thanks guys.

My dad Just started it again and drove up the road, it did the same thing, it is like the gas pedal works all by its self. Went to 3K and was hard to stop, had to put it in neutral.

Just cleaned it and put it back, didn't really change much. Did find a vacuum line coming from the EGR that had a hole, fixing it now.

Check EGR, cleaned TPS and AIC fixed 2 broken vacuum lines and WD40ed everything including gas pedal linkage. Not doing it now, bit is idling weird, goes from like 700 to 1500 and back down over and over again. It is cold as $hit and has been in the 20s all week. Could that do it? Im stuck, I am not the best mechanic, but damn, what else could it be?

My '92 had a nasty dirty throttle body when I bought it and it would stick simply because of the grime. I pulled the butterfly valve out and cleaned everything good as new, which made everything work perfectly.

Did you disconnect the battery to reset the computer? I've always done that when messing with sensors on the tb.
