Need Heat? backflush your heater core

I had changed my T-stat, and did a flush of the radiator etc. Heat was lukewarm at best.

A few folks on here suggested backflushing the heater core - this is very easy to do, and took less than an hour. And now I have good heat.

Prior to doing this, I called 4 repair shops. No one mentioned doing this - all I heard was replacing the Heater Core - at $900 - 1,200!!!


this clip made it super easy - and it's a staight 6 4.0 so you can't go wrong

How much antifreez did that end up using?

Works like a charm. This forum saved me almost a grand going to a mechanic. I pledge loyalty for life !!

by the way, I didn't have to use the pipe cleaner.
