My 2001 Cherokee does not show the speed, and upon pulling the speed sensor, I found in the transmission a plastic gear that was broken in half. Now I believe I have read that this is a common problem that happens over time, so I am looking to replace the part. The problem is that I find tons of gear pinions (which I will replace as well as it is missing some teeth), but I have a hard time finding the plastic gear that connects to the pinion gear.

Does anyone have a OEM part# or know a place where to buy this part? I think I have seen it on the forum at some point, but could not find it this time.

The gear on the output shaft, or the gear on the sensor itself?

It is the gear on the output shaft. The gear with the pinion is found in many places, but I can't find the larger plastic gear within the trans.

 

Apologies for the bump guys. This Jeep needs to go through emissions in a week or two, and need to have this fixed. Thanks!
