Just a thought if you're getting a new one.. cut off the bent section on the old one (or just bend it up) so you can turn it w/o removing the pump. Take it up to the hardware store, and get a piece to insert between the new pipe and the water pump.. That should give you enough clearance to twist the new pipe in. I think I saw a write-up on here someone else did that.

while not a factory fitting, you can cut the water pipe off before the bend to get it off. take the piece you remove to home depot get a hose barb that has matching threads and extend your heater hose. or just pull your H2o pump again. the pulley should come off easy this time
