Need some help identifying this hose. I am In the process of replacing my cylinder head because I did not join the Cherokee forum before I made an uneducated purchase of a 2000 Cherokee from a lying douchebag and it blew a head gasket. Anyhow, I came across this hose wrapped in heat resistant foil that is not connected to anything. It is cut off just below the firewall and I cant figure out where it is supposed to be attached.

Thanks!

Ah, yes. Probably removed when the lift kit was installed.

front axle still needs a vent with a lift. The hole in the diff is on top of the axle carrier housing, just behind the diff. cover. If the vent tube is disconnected, the hole is probably wide open...not good.

My jeep also has this. But what is the little white plug in the end? Also the other end of hose goes down behind the engine. Does the other end of this plug into the front axle?

Not a plug. A vent with a cap on it to keep crap from getting into the tube.

If the tube heads rearward, it might be the vent for the gas tank to the canister on the passenger side of the firewall. I'm not sure which side of the engine that comes up though, I was thinking passenger side.

Thanks ,This is RHD cherokee and yes the pipe is on the passenger side , rear part of the engine . And the steel pipes along it are brake pipes but I can’t figure out where this goes. It doesn’t go into the canister .

My jeep starts but when I press the accelerator it dies . If I disconnect the map sensor and the press the accelerator the engine revs .
