Default Mystery thumping no longer

So every morning when I make the left turn out of my block over a big divot and mismatch roadbeds the front end would clunk loudly...I thought it was a loose exhaust or shock or sway bar link. I found my control arm bushings shot. I'm sure they have easy 5-10 on them.. I do one at a time so the axle doesn't roll or shift too much. I tried to beat those metal sleeves out with a sledge hammer until my arms hurt...didn't even budge. In the end I drilled around them with a 1 1/4 hole saw was done in 5 min, then the bushings pulled right out. Cleaned up the holes with some sandpaper, already had a bag of new poly bushings...just not the metal sleeves. Rocky Road is sending me new sleeves for the cost of shipping but I couldn't wait so I reused the old sleeves. They were good enough to get me through the winter and will replace them in the spring. Front end is tighter and quieter for not too much effort...01 with 3 inch lift

5-10?

As in 5-10 years? 5-10k miles? Either way, that's not a lot of time. What brand were they?

Yeah, that might do it.

I had a very similar problem with the front strut on my family van. Top was gone.
