Ask them if you can keep the tires and wheels. Just put on rollers to get rid of it.
I bet the unibody is warped.
Take the 3 grand, along with the tires and wheels, and go buy yourself something newer with less miles.
Remember it has almost 300,000 miles on it AND the 0331 head. Time bomb.
Good luck.

It's a 99. It might have the 0331 head and like you said, it has almost 300k. If that head was gunna crack it would have done it already. If the unibody doesn't look bad underneath and the roof isn't damaged I would keep it. Like others have said offer them less and ask for more. All they can say is no. Honestly from that one picture it doesn't look that bad. What hit you? The damage pattern is strange.

well it was a 94 dodge dakota.. not big just medium size truck.. it hit me when i was waiting at a red light... that person didnt time their self.. it was not a big impact when it hit me.. it was the others truck right side.
I dont think the unibody is damaged.. and also the engine was replaced like 2 years ago.. transmission was replaced like 3 months ago.. i dont even know how many miles the engine has but the tranny is like 120 k

take the money and buy it back, think about all the good parts you have on there that you could sell, interior, airbags, front end, engine (someone could want it for a stoker build) transmission, axles. there is alot of money in it, you could but another jeep and put your stuff on then sell it in parts for 1000 bucks easy! then when you dont want anything else from it, junk the body, or sell that too!!!

Consider youself very lucky.
I would personally buy a new one 95-99, swap my 8.25 29-spline over my lift, tires, interior if you get a 97+, engine, tranny, gears if you had them for the front axle.
Save the new XJs axle shafts, your 99s t-case,New XJ old engine,New tranny, keep as much spare parts that you think you can brake, the DS's. Glass from doors if same model Xj
