So I clicked the reply button so say I don't know? Go figure. Someone else will chime in. On one hand I wouldn't sweat it, on the other hand I think I saw a chain for $30 on Rockauto at some point. The sprockets are not pointed, still square on the ends. See what others say. If I was there and planning to more than double that 130K, just the chain might be an affordable option. Or let it go. If you get everything right it pisses off the Jeep gods!

Looks a bit slack to me just sitting there. Lay a straightedge across both sprockets and push on the chain. How much deflection is there? If 1/2" or more i say replace it.

I will make it three votes to change it. Although you don't see those things fail very often, I think it makes sense to replace such a cheap part when you're already in there. Think about the regret you'll feel IF it fails 10k from now..... And you have to take the front of your engine apart again.....

It'll live.

After it's back together and you're driving it will it haunt you, keep you up at night, make you slap yourself on the head for not having changed it?

Was it Crime and Punishment By Dostoevsky, where the guy goes crazy hearing a heartbeat. (someone he killed I think)

If you drive a soccer mom car into **** that makes some people cringe and call it fun, you might be eclectic.

Now read it thinking Jeff Foxworthy, you might be a redneck.

XJs are just small SUVs right?
