dude just order some lift shocks and call it a day. there is a billion and one vendors that sell a decent shock for cheap

Either way, you have to get shocks on your ride. Your Cherokee not having shocks is a safety issue plain and simple.

Why would anybody have even taken them off. Does anything good come from not having shocks in back?

Oh yeah that makes sense, I would rather it not look or feel like I got hydraulics when I go over a speed bump though haha

No, I do not see any bolts broken off I am looking for an image on google for where I bolt them on I have 2 spots and I have never done rear shocks before.

I see it now was hoping it wasn't those they look like they beginning to strip and are rusted guess we see how it goes tomorrow.
