Ok so I’ve been planning to upgrade the headlights on my ’01 XJ to H4’s, since as you all know factory lights SUCK! Well I finally did it, and the difference is unbelievable! The light out-put is a 200% improvement over stock, I can actually see! It took me a couple hours to install everything using basic hand tools.
I’m posting this because your write-ups are what helped me do this, so if this helps someone else it was worth posting.

One thing about Rocky-Road Outfitters, they’re not fast when it comes to shipping, not in my case anyway. I placed my order on 2-22, and received it on 3-16, so be patient with them.
That’s it; follow the installation procedure from the link above and your set. The harness is fool-proof, everything is labeled; it tells you where it goes! If you still need help do a search here on the forum, that’s where I found everything I needed to do this project.
I also replaced my interior lights with LED’s. I found the info for this here: not sure if I can post another forums link here, if not sorry, no harm intended just trying to help.

Interior Dome front: Rigid Loop 3 Watt Super White with 3 LED’s

Interior floor: BA15s Super White, keep (probably yellow by now) the dome covers off after installation
This LED upgrade looks awesome! The lights are bright, and look great.
That’s it; the time, money, and effort were well worth it.

I'm running Autopal's which were an improvement, just recently aquired the headlight harness from susquehanna motorsports.. expecting much more improvement here as well.

only question.. with the harness.. on LMC website there are 2 options for the harness and both labeled 36-3580 one for pickup and one for bl/jmy.. which did you get? does it matter? thanks again!

 

When I called LMC to place the order I mentioned the same thing to the rep. I was told there the same item, either one will work. I did mention it was being used in a '01 Jeep Cherokee, and was told they don't make harnesses for Jeeps...."WTF" I thought! She noted it in case I had to return it and shipped it anyway. It works great; just finished aiming the headlights and "DAMN" what a difference it makes!!!
