Hey guys thanks for the help but I found out today when I was messing with the distributor it has this pole thing connected to the bottom that goes in some hole. Well it wasnt all the way down the hole. Now that I pushed it in it turns on just fine and runs great. Now I just need to know how to keep it in? Because it pops out when Im driving.

Your missing the dist retaining fork and bolt it sounds like.

Glad you found the problem.

You want to fix this sooner than later. If it comes up too far it could come seperated from the oilpump shaft.. and you stop circulating oil. The drive gear could get damaged as well.

When I messed with it I pushed it back down. Could something already be disconnected you think?

Your good if it's got pressure.. i'm not sure you can drop the dist in without the shaft being engaged.. but it's something you want to be sure of regardless. Get the retaining fork on asap.
