Most of us who grew up on farms etc drove tractors at a very young age. My first was in the late 30s on a Farmall F12, at about 8 years old.
Stuff did happen in those days though, and many farmers were injured & some killed by their own equipment. And it still happens infrequently....
As times change we become more safety conscious I believe....

However, don't use this to bring up your issue with a vendor and highlight it. It's not their fault your son hit a tree. Even with their bumper you may have bent the frame rail. Guess what, you don't know. Leave them out of your posts and make a small claims against them on your own.

Driving a tractor at age 9 is a lot different than a Jeep with family members in it. I drove many tractors as a kid. Usually slow enough so if I was headed for something bad I could just turn it off or someone could jump on the drawbar and stop it. Usually there is only one person riding a tractor also, so I'd hardly say that compares.

come on guys, he was in a farmers field, not on city streets. many here have done the same thing at that age. what has this world come to? kids aren't allowed to use an axe, pocket knife, chainsaw or play tackle football anymore cause their parents think they might get hurt. geez, we never got hurt, and if we did, we shook it off and got right back on that horse.
hope he learns from his mistake and it makes him a better driver, now and in the future.
anyways, fender/header panel can be had cheap and is an easy fix.
lca mount is a bit trickier when the axle is still in the jeep, so if you can remove it, you will find it a lot easier.
hope you get your problem sorted out with the bumper issue, i know i'd start to get p issed at the 3 month mark. i'd just say fu,k em, and get another one from somewhere else or maybe make your own. then go after a refund and tell everyone on every 4x4 forum your experience. you're entitled to it.

This thread just reeks of SFB syndrome decision making......and then we post the results of our SFB decision making process on the 'net to tell the world. Does making safe decisions regarding family stop when the pavement turns to dirt?
I have no issues with letting your son drive your car on your own private property. The only thing I see wrong with this is the 3 year old was in the car. Moms a grown *** adult, if she doesnt want to wear her seat belt that's her choice. But the 3 year old has no choice, you need to make those good choices for them.

LOL, that acronim did not cross my mind.
Hard enough to keep up with IAC, PCM, MPG, with a BMFH.
Question is, who will be the first to step up and CLAIM they never had a lack of judgement of any sort ???

Don't forget RCH!
I was lucky enough that my lack of judgement moments are mostly pre-Internet era. Only a handful are witnesses and they can be discredited easily!
