ck88, I was actually doing some searching, looking for the location of the ASD on a renix for XJ HeepHero's thread. (still haven't found it). Then I stumbled on a chance to post a pic I thought Cruiser might want to see. (wish I could over-ride auto focus)

im sorry , it was my fuel pump relay. you should here the fuel pump kick on for a couple sec then shut off when you turn your key to the on position. i had to jumper terminal 5 and 6 on the d1 diagnostic connection. my jeep stayed running. so i tighten up all the connections on all the relays on the relay bank. fixed my problem if you have a chilton 40602, the diagnostic connection pin out is on page 4-22.

That is exactly why I advocate doing this on evrey Renix Jeep as preventative maintenance:

I suggest unplugging every connection in the engine bay you can find, spraying it out with a good electronics cleaner, visually inspecting the terminals, and adding dielectric grease before plugging it back together.
All of the relays should be removed, the terminals wire-brushed until shiny, and the receptacles sprayed out with contact cleaner. Then dielectric grease should be added before plugging them back in. I do this on every Renix era Jeep I purchase or work on for someone else.
