my 89 wont start

im going to buy a crank position sensor and then i have replaced my hole starting system practically
ya i took my nss back off an put it back on an turn it all the way clockwise an tightened it down an now it works great
got those reverse lights back

You picked up a meter didn't you? On the DC "V" scale, (that's the one with a straight line after the V (--), do you have 12 volts (for a second when you turn on the key) at the FRONT of the ceramic ballast resistor on the inner fender near the air cleaner? A bit less 9-10 volts should come out the rear, directly to your fuel pump.
For "AC" (alternating current), the meter has a wavy line after the V (~). You can set it on something low, probably 200, or maybe 2, (doesn't matter), then do Cruiser's CPS test. Holding the probes on the pins in the connector is by far the hardest part. Might be nice to have help.

It may still test good, many aftermarket CPS will test fine. They may work for a while, but after a few heat cycles spacing may become an issue.
