I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee right hand Drive, parts for this thing cost a fortune. Few years ago I purchased the electric fan it cost me $375, anybody have experienced at rebuilding one of these? Because I really don’t want to buy another one if I can find it.
When I bought an upgrade to my efan, I thought I'd ordered for the RHD but turned out probably for a LHD ( haven't checked the partnumber for this post so can't tell if there is actually different part numbers), it was an aftermarket. TYC.
I see on Rockauto there are fans for postal (rhd) and LHD so there is the answer to that. lol.
It was only a little easy adjustment to make it fit, had to saw off a little tab at the bottom (because it didnt line up with its slot, being the other hand drive) and drilled a hole and zip tied it snuck instead. No drama to do, so you have a bit more options to consider when sourcing a new efan if needed.
When I did my water pump a few years back I decided to replace my electric fan.
Nothing wrong with it except one of the tabs was broken.
And to be frank think I did that.
'00 was a kinda not running purchase and one of the first things I had to do was replace the radiator.
Not knowing how it was set up probably snapped it pulling the fan out.
Glued it over the years and it held until the next time that I had to pull it out so...
Anyway bought one of the cheap Ebay fans. Thinking $45.
I decided on this particular one cause it looked just like a factory one in the picture.
But when I got it was not even close and I was pissed.
But then I actually looked at the fan and saw that it was better in couple ways.
The wiring for the connector was longer which meant I could pull it out and just move it to the side.
Also instead of the metal clips on the tabs the molded tabs were just wedged with no clips.
Fits nice and secure plus comes out and goes back in really easy.
Been at least 4 years now and so far so good.
I would give you a link for it but for the life of me can't find it in my purchase history so......

I can’t read the stickers to try to get an idea on part number

Well since my mechanical fan shroud had to be modified because I could not find a replacement, I decided to try the left-hand drive once again. Because if I had the mechanical fan shroud original, the left-hand drive fan would not fit in there before. Luckily it wasn’t too bad, one tab fit along with the hole for a screw at the top. The other side the tab was right on the edge of the opening on the radiator Where I could zip tie it. That worked out good, the top was about an inch away from its mounting position, so I put in a spacer and tied it with a zip tie. Let’s see how it holds up delivering mail tomorrow, but it looks like it’s going to work.
