Recently, the Electric Fan in my 87 XJ has started to make a rough sounding noise. When I took a look, I noticed that the electric fan was wobbling while spinning. The fan housing wasn't but the fan blades were.

Is there anyway to fix this other than replacing the fan? I took it off but didn't want to take too much apart without asking some advice first.

I'd replace it if it were me.

 

Bearings are gone. Agreed on getting a different fan. If cost is an issue find a good working unit at the salvage yard.
