Default mud flaps

yesterday i got a 248.00 ticket for no seatbelt and no splash aprons/fenders...(mud flaps). anyone else ever get one of these? i guess the law in washington anyway is if they can see your axel then you need mud flaps.

never heard of such a thing. Indiana must have too many Rednecks to pass such a law.

they stick out in the front like 5 inches or so but still not in the back wich is what he saw. he also wrote the ticket as a traffic violation but told me its not so i have to call them or something. maybe since he marked that its a traffic violation and its not it will void the damn thing.

I feel your pain. I get hasseled about the mud flaps all the time. I also used to get hasseled about fender flares on my old Toyletta that was on 35x12.50s. Seems the law organizations here in Wa. love to target lifted 4x4s. I have found that if there enough Lowered Rice Burners and Crotch Rockets around, to bug, they seem to leave us alone. I do a pretty good job of hiding the 32s under the stock fender flares of my XJ but, I'm going to be buying Pro Comp 33x12.50s for it very soon...and with no plans for bigger fender flares.....so, maybe I'll be successful at keeping some of the heat off of you. Oh, and sorry about the ticket. They have all of those pretty new cop cars to pay for.

The law, I was told by one of my local Island County sheriffs, reads that if the vehicle is lifted PERIOD that you have to have a mud flap that covers the tire from top to halfway down. I still think it is a BS law and I actually had these cheesey mud flaps on my XJ until I ripped them off 4wheeling. Now, I just try to lay low and not draw attention to myself.

I know when I use to live there if you had modofies the lift or body or tires went beyond the body you needed flaps.

In PA your tires can't extend past the fender flares. What's even worse is, they just passed a law against susp. lifts. 2" body lift is all you're allowed to have (good luck on an XJ). Been to 3 different garages in my county that refuse to inspect it.

I have been pulled over for this sooooo many times. I live in Washington state. Washington is a "fair weather" state. This means you can drive any open wheeled rig when its not raining...hahaha....not raining thats funny.

Also I believe its 3" and no more outside of the fenders. The cops can give me a thousand tickets before I drill into my 62 ****** fenders. The one thats in my picture album, yeah you wouldn't either, my point.

I guess oklahoma has the easiest laws..we just have a max lift limit based on measurements to the bumpers and that's it. Never heard anything about tire width mud flaps or the sort. We have so many big trucks with wide tires sticking out they could get rich fast passing such a law...lol My neighbor has an F250 on 44's and another on 35's..
