motor swap struggle
So I've got a 95xj and blew my motor, I picked up a motor out of a 97 and I've ran into a few problems the new motor is in but the fuel rail and sensor outlets are different is it as easy as swapping the old sensor and fuel rails out with the ones on the old motor? I feel like I'm on over my head at this point

Use all of the everything from your old engine. Don't even try to use the 97's accessories or sensors. Just the block and head. Very different engine management systems.
One thing you'll run into is the new head does not have a hole in the back for the extra in-dash temp sensor. You'll need to tap a new hole for that.

You shouldn't have to change fuel rails, I swapped a 92->97 and didn't have to. Throttle body was the same as well, but we used the intake manifold from the 97 so the power steering bracket would work with it, as well as the better tensioner assembly. Also instead of tapping the head for the new sensor just use the thermostat housing from the 97 it should have a sensor there, if anything you just might have to run new wires so it will reach.

So swapping the fuel rail.was right because of that return? I had to put everything on hold because I need to get a slave cyl and line rockauto has the master and slave with the line for 100$ because I'm really smart and forgot to disconnect the the line when I dropped the trans haha

Now for a question about the tcase... Why is it different? Is it just missing the cone part? Even though the one is sealed? My old (bad) one on the left and the good one on the right can I run it like that or no?

Nope thats a change in design that happened in 96 or 97. It's supposed to be like that: with the old design, ATF lubed the slip yoke and if your DS fell out you'd lose ATF. In the new design that oil seal is behind that metal debris cap and the slip yoke is packed with grease, and a bellows boot thing gets fastened on to keep crap out. Your DS should slip on fine as I think the shaft is the same.
