Motor swap from one cherokee to another
My brother is putting a lower mileage straight six from a parts cherokee (same year) into my 91 Cherokee only the distributors are different he is looking for advice on what to do. also the parts cherokee was a standard and mine is an auto I don't know if that makes a difference. Thank you for anybodys input on the subject.

The renix era jeeps didn't have HO until 91; there is your problem. You are going to have to do some modifications to get the engine to work.

You need a flexplate from the 1991 for the automatic.
Swap distributors. Use the 1991 intake/exhaust manifold gasket and use the 91 intake and exhaust manifolds.
