Default MOTOR ISSUES, ROUGH START, sometimes! HELP!!!

hey everyone im new to the cherokee, always wanted one and finally got a 1993 jeep cherokee sport w/ the inline six 4.0. i love the cherokee but it has a couple problems that im not sure about. i'll just list them out to make it easier for you all to understand.

1: my cherokee has a rough start. sometimes it does not crank though my battery is good. when it does crank it takes awhile before it finally fires up. and sometimes it starts up immediately! unfortunately thats rare. on the rough starts my engine will run for awhile and slowly die out and then takes a crap on me, but thats only happened once, usually i just give it gas when the engine throbs and it goes away.. so im thinking the whole issue i have is a combination of the fuel pump and starter, but i need your expertise. oh and the fuel drains back into the tank so i hear that could be a check valve in the fuel pump, but like i said you guys know what your doing so some help would be awesome.

2: my second issue is the reverse lights dont come on, pretty much ever!

3: kinda refurring back to my first issue. what is the problem if my motor wont start in park i have to stick it in nuetral and even then it might not start i have to keep workin it for awhile.

It sounds like your nss switch on the right side of your trany is either out of adjustment or needs to be cleaned,it is a big switch held on by a nut,be careful when removing it or adjusting it so you do not break it.
The fuel pump issue can be resolved with an aftermarket check valve or a new fuel pump,in the morning or after it sets you can turn the key on a couple of times before starting it to allow the pump to charge the rail.
