Default motor dies while driving

Any thoughts on what would cause the motor to stop while driving, full electrical was working. Was driving and the motor cut out, lost power brakes and steering, but lights, radio, window, etc all still worked. Pulled over to try to restart, cranked strong but would not start, tried a few times. Sat for about 20-30 minutes tried again and it started.

Thanks for your input

2000 Cherokee 4.0L engine

Answer is:
Bad crank position sensor; would malfunction when it got hot, then function again after cooling down.
Replaced and running fine.
