You guys are going to be seeing a lot more of me now that the weather has broken. Everytime I crawl under there its something new.
Turns out I had a bolt broken on my passeger side motor mount bracket. The one that actually goes into the block. At first I though it was just missing the more I felt around in there with a small allen wrench I realized it had been drilled out before. I checked the other bolts on that side. One is fine the other I could actually move the washer that was put on it between the bracket and the bolt head and the bolt was as tight as it would go. (it was a 1 3/8" bolt) I went and picked up some grade 8 bolts washers and lock washers and went to work. Replaced all three driver side even though I think they were good. That took 10 minutes.
Got to the passenger side as the bolt pulled out the motor shifted just a touch and now I can't get the new bolt back in. Was afraid that was going to be the case with only one other bolt on that side. Had a jack set up where I thought it wouldn't shift but no dice there. The motor seems to be about 1/8"-1/4" low. But the more I jack it up the more its off in that direction. Any words of wisdom to get the holes lined back up? Or is it just playing around with different jack positions until I hit the sweet spot?
Also, you guys think I'll be good on 2 bolts for a couple of months. Really don't have the money for the brown dog stuff right now. Have been stashing money away for for it but I'm still short for the whole kit. I'm pretty light with my left foot and really no off roading just a mile of gravel.
