more lift questions!
so if I have a 2 inch shackle and spacer lift then get a 2inch suspension lift the coil springs that come with the 2inch lift would be useless? wouldn't i need 4inch coil springs since the total amount of lift would be 4"?

If the kit comes with 2" over stock springs, then you would have a total of 4" if you used what you allready have.
is that what you're asking?

kinda..i already have 2" shackles and spacers...so as of now i have a 2 inch lift. I would like to have an actual suspension lift though (like coil springs, sway bar disco's, etc.) so what i'm asking is....if i were to get a 2 inch "lift kit" in addition to my shackles and spacers would the coil springs that come with the 2" lift be okay or would i need different ones cuz my total amount of lift would be 4".......i'm so confused

you would be ok with 2" springs and 2" spacers for the front. with the back allready having 2" shackles i would not elect to buy an AAL suspension kit. I would get full packs. Quadratec has OME 2" heavy duty full leafs.
I suspect for flexing capability your best bet would be 4" spings and 4" leafs if you do alot of wheeling. Iron rock Offroad would have all the 4" stuff you need.
Also you are gonna need a t/c drop kit and poss axle shims.
Or you could just get a full 4-4.5" kit and sell me your 2" stuff b/c i'm only looking for a 2" lift.

this is what I'm thinking about doing right here....
2" coil springs from rustysoffroad
roughcountry x-flex control arms
roughcountry adj.front trac bar
skyjacker transfer case lowering kit
brake line extension kit front and
rear from rustysoffroad
old man emu 2" heavy load leaf
spring
so unless i'm retarded and didn't think this through.....in addition to my shackles and spacers (2") all the stuff listed about would bring me to a total of 4" of lift correct? and what should i do for the u bolts???? thanks a lot for your help man

No problem bro. you should get longer U-bolts with new hardware.
And yes you will be at 4". Sounds like you got it all covered. You might need shims for the rear, but i would wait to see if you need them.

awesome! I will look into that! and i'm also gona get quick disco's....does it sound like this will have good articulation and flexing? i'm not trying to make it some expensive rock crawler but from what i listed above i feel i should have a nice amount...but then again like i keep saying it my first project so idk. and you're the man!!!! it's nice to have someone actually tell me what's goin' on instead of getting annoyed by me. I'm hoping by the end of june this will be done and i will post pics as i go through the various stages.

Well your using 2" spacers and shacles with a 2" lift kit to get to 4".
I think if your just doing trailing and you are carful, you'll be cool.
Decent flex and articulation? Yes.
But to have staight FLEX & ARTICULATION you should concider a 3"- 4.5" "lift kit". with 3 or 4" springs no spacers and no shackle lift.
