Default Mopar 318 in cherokee??

id love to convert my 4.0 to a v8.wondered if anyone put a ol 318 in a cherokee or anything. i know sbc 350's have been done. but havent heard anything about a 318. or maybe i didnt search hard enough

Since the Grand Cherokee could have a V8, I would venture a guess that it could fit with alot of stock parts.

There is a thread on here somewhere about someone putting a v8 from a grand cherokee into a xj. If thats what you are talking about doing its not really worth it.
4.0l =190hp 225 lb-ft of torque
5.2l(318) = 225 hp 300 lb-ft of torque

I say stroke it. Cheaper and more power.

i mean id re-build the engine. and boar it out and stuff. but a 4.7 stroker is looking cheaper i guess. ill keep dreamin.

My uncle had a Grand with a 360 or a 390...I forget which.... anyways it was factory and it hauled *****. I say go all out if your gonna do it...

throw some like 30 inch radials so its still big. it'd be so quick

I would go with the stroker and that way it all fits in there much better and I would think it would be lighter too...but not sure about that.
