Default Moog or Spicer u-joints?

I am looking to change the u-joints on the front and my drive line etc. I was playing around on amazon and saw a lot of Spicer u-joints. I've never used spicer and was wondering how they stacked up against MOOG and other brands?

Anyone have exact part numbers? i.e front axle/drive shaft/etc

Spicer is what came from the factory. Moog used to be top notch before China started making their parts. They're still pretty decent though.

And Napa precision u joints are just reboxed Spicer joints. Advanced auto also sells the precision joints along with moog.

It depends on what year your Jeep is, and whether it has ABS. There are two sizes of axle shaft ujoints - the smaller ones, found on pre-95 d30's without abs are 5-297x. The larger more desirable, found on all 95+ and pre-94 with ABS are 5-760x (were once 5-260x). The driveshaft uses 5-1310x. Those are the Spicer part numbers.

Spicer 5-1310X for the driveshafts
Spicer 5-760X for the front axle shafts
Spicer 211544X centering ball flange
Spicer 286418 seal for centering ball flange

These are the factory part numbers. In 330,000 miles I have changed only one u-joint, the front left axle shaft joint.

I have an 01 XJ and 97 XJ. The part numbers are the same for both. The 01 XJ has 330,000. Before you rebuild the front driveshaft I would check to make sure the splines are good. There shouldn't be any slop.

For my mostly off road 99 XJ I used the HD Spicer's on my driveshaft's. As far as the Moog AutoZone sells them in their better line for quite a few apps, they do have a cheaper line also.

91-95 without abs all have 260 joints. with abs was 297.
297 and 760 have the same size caps and are interchangeable.

95 and up all have 297/760 joints.

these are all spicer numbers, you will have to cross reference them with substitutes.

pre 91 were 260 without abs and 297 with abs.
vac disco axles were all 260
