Default molded brake lines

so i brought my 94 cherokee sport in for a rotor recall yesterday (which meant new front rotors and brakes for $40) and i was informed that my floor was pretty rusted which i knew but also my brake lines were getting pretty rusted. is there anyway to get pre-molded brake lines to get installed or anyway i can get this done for cheaper then expected? he told me it would be 'really expensive' cuz theyd have to mold all the lines. any help is really appreciated

Check with any auto parts store. You may be able to purchase them "vehicle specific". Worst case, they can be bought in pre-cut lengths with the flare & fittings installed. They you can purchase a tubing bender and do it yourself. (possible)

I pretty much did mine, myself.

I paid about $30 for a 22 foot roll of brake line and a bunch of fittings.

Mold them??

No, I just removed the original ( in two pieces as it rusted through ) and by hand I CAREFULLY bent the new line to more or less match the old one. It was not 'exact' but close enough. You do have to be CAREFUL in bending the line so as to avoid kinking it.

I think went on to put the flares on both ends and installed the lines.

The real trick for me because I never did it before was flaring the ends.

In my application the front of the line had an ISO ( aka bubble flare ) and on the rear it required a Double Flare. I had to find two different flaring tools.

I went and asked one shop what they would charge to do the job and they said " oh somewhere around $200.00 "

For a total of $150 I bought all the tools and materials.

In hindsight, I might have spent the extras $50 to have them do it, but in the end I did not. Now I have the experience and the tools.

If you want to pay someone to do it, see if you can get someone to make they for you in stainless steel. Probably a bit more expensive, but the rust issue goes away.

You could also look into copper/nickel brake lines. They're soft enough to be bent by hand and they will never rust.

well $200 wouldnt bother me. i got my jeep for a good price and decent miles and put little money into it so far. what are the lines usually made of if stainless steel copper and nickel are all better? unfortunately my shoulder is currently in a cast so i have no other choice but to bring it somewhere. am i better served to bring it to a jeep service center or to an independent mechanic?

Stock lines are made of carbon steel and plated to inhibit corrosion. Buy your own parts to save on the mark up, and take it to good independent shop.
