Mobil 1 High Mileage
Do you guys know if Mobil 1 High Mileage removed the zinc from their oil?
I have been using it for a while now because I read on here that it did have it. The reason that I'm asking is that I was talking to our fork truck mechanic and they switched their oil from Rotella T. He said they got a memo that said they removed the zinc from it and I was wondering if Mobil 1 did the same.

From what I understand, zinc levels have been lowered in all oils.....something about easier on the cat. Supposedly other additives have replaced some of the zinc to make up the difference. Even though the 4.0 is a flat tappet motor, the valve train seat pressure is so low, low levels of zinc is a non-issue.

IIRC, I think I read somewhere that the 4.0 is happy somewhere in the ballpark of 400-600 ppm ZDDP. High Mileage Mobil1 10W30 has app 1100 ppm of Zinc, and 1000 ppm of phosphorus. Check this out, very good info:

Edit: Also, I believe that Mobil1 is able to keep this higher levels of Zinc in their oil despite the government mandate because they classify it as a preventative measure in wear in older engines. I may be wrong, but Im pretty sure I read this on one of their data sheets somewhere.
