MJ running issues..HELP!!!
My buddy has an '88 comanche that he ran out of gas. After refilling the jeep it has not been running right at all. The only way to get it into gear and moving is to rev it way up and slowly let out the clutch, it revs fine while in neutral but boggs down and dies when under load. The fuel pump is pumping, i just cant seem to think what it might be. Any imput would be much appreciated!
Thanks!
Thanks!

Sounds like the pump sucked up some gunk from the tank and plugged the filter. replace the filter and that should help.

Also consider that if that's the case you might have some debris in your injectors as well.
I recommend this little article here http://www.ericsxj.com/flomax/flomax.htm .
I plan to do this one day in the near future when my other projects meet with fruition.

thats what i thought so we got a filter and are in the process of putting it in, we'll see if that does it. Some more info, if you rev slowly it is fine but if you quickly hit the gas it cuts out. We will see if the filter helps though, Thanks guys.

I would hook up a fuel-pressure gauge and check it out. Then check it out under throttle. But honestly, if it works in nuetral then you know the fuel pump and injectors are doing their job. The only variable that comes in to play when this problem occurs is when you apply clutch... so looks like you might need to investigate the transmission.
of course if you hook up a code-checker from your local autozone or another jeep owner in the area that has one, that's an instant identifier of suspects.
