Thumbs up

Hey there, its your transmission "range sensor" or otherwise called neutral safety switch. Not sure how much $$.$$ they are, but my buddie had the same code on his 98, went to the Junk Yard, i think he paid 1.00 for it, that took care of it, replace it, clear the code! hope this helps!

By chance have you done any work to it around the interior/dash board or anything, sometimes if the harness the sensor is connected to get's disrupted, itll throw a code!

Its gonna take so many key cycles for the CEL to go out. I wouldnt worry about it for a while. It will go out. unless of course you problem is still there.

Just wait a week or so, and see what happens. And ive always heard just disconnecting the battery to reset ECM/PCM. Dont think it would matter touchin the terminals together.

Idk, like I said it takes a few cycles for the computer to realize the problem is gone and it will cut the light
