Default mid year 99 brake difference.

pre 99.5 have composite rotors and post 99.5 have cast iron rotors is what I have read. How do I know which ones my 99 has? I need to replace a hub, there are different hub assemblies for pre and post 99.5 do to the rotor difference and I need to know which one I have.

Are the differences easy to see or do I need to use the vin to find out when it was made? There is also a different hub for 84-90 of which I have a spare on my other axle, I don't see why it wouldn't work (assuming I have "composite" rotors) so I probably try to mount it up before buying new unless anyone knows why it won't.

I had the same issue theres threads on here that can explain it better, first off all you most likelly have metal/steel rotors....the difference is a late 99 like mine has the 2000 rotors.....the 99 rotors were too deep (by very little) on the inside and when you install them and torque down the wheel and lug nuts the wheel is stuck and won't even turn....I got my hub bearing at advanced auto for $89.00 ....

89s pretty cheap, i won't even attempt to put in the one I have then. I'll buy a new one, but I still need to know which one to get. I'm thinking its an early 99. Ill search to try to find the threads you were talking about but no luck so far. thanks

Can I use the newer style hub with the earlier style rotor? I already put on the hub and even through some paint on it, Im afraid that advance might not take it back.....
