I'd double check anything on there with your particular DMV.
They leave an important part of Illinois Vehicle Code regarding bumpers out of their description of our lift laws.

I was wondering if my 55watt driving lights mounted on my bumper are legal to have on while driving in the city

Not if they point out farther than your head lights. And you can't use them with your high beams.

Don't know about legal (Nick can answer that) but they would be annoying to oncoming traffic.

Good luck, Just don't give Jeepers a bad name by using them and blinding oncoming traffic.

55w is whats legal in mn but now that my KCs are full of mud, i use them at night too..theyre 100w bulbs but theyre like 55w now and theyre pencil beams so they are mainly focused on the road infront of them and nothing else.
