Default melted wires causing cel?

Might be a silly question but I think it's legit. Small backstory, I've had this cel for a year now throwing a tps code and a crank/cam sensor code. It runs great except once in a while (what could be, I think) it'll do the heat stroke thing; where it has an issue starting after just being turned off. I've found other posts so I'll read up on it there. when I was looking for broken wires coming off the tps I discovered that all the wires are melted together. I was pulling them apart like those twissler liquorice candy. Then I opened the plastic rail that sits next the fuel rail and discovered all those wires were the same; intertwined, one sold mass. my question is this wasn't meant to be like this out of factory right? My engine bay has gotten really hot in the past and I figured I have unintentionally glue everything together. Also, could this be throwing my codes? Couple wires crossing? It would be a B to pull every wire apart and search for the broken ones but ill do it if i have to. Ive replaced all the sensors with jeep sensors, tps is from napa and runs great, so I'm ruling out bad sensors.
any ideas, insight would help tremendously. I'm running out of ideas and patience.

My CPS wires came loose and melted on the exhaust, causing issues that sound like yours. It worse worse going uphill but that was probably just when the cables shorted out.
I wouldn't trust yours, but replacing them might be a mission.

Awesome. Thanks for the reply. A mission indeed! I'm just going to replace the tps wires and then wrap the entire thing in heat shield tape.
I couldnt find a decent wiring diagram online, does anyone know if there's a point where both the cps wires and tps wires meet up? Or is it that there's two separate areas where my wires have melted.
I can't afford to take it in and get the entire thing rewired.

I have a service manual for a 99, what diagram do you need?

Do you have the insulator blanket between manifold and fuel rail?

That's nice of you! I'm not exactly sure but what I'm trying to figure out if at what point in the highway of wires does both the cps and tps meet up. If they do at all.

No I don't. Is that the heat shield I can pick up from jeep that helps eliminate heat soak?

Because I didn't have the money to take it into the shop. And I've had a personal vendetta against it and want to kill it myself. Getting so close.
Any other stabbing questions?

And if has been a year and it's still driving fine, then it can't be anything that crucial

There are warning lights on the dash for a reason, like warning you there is something wrong. It won't cost anything to have Auto Zone read the codes for you.

Really? Not just there for personal enjoyment? Ya I know, which is why I knew from my first post it was throwing the tps and cps codes. Thus why I'm centering my wiring search on those two sensors. Thus why I know it's wiring because both sensors are newly installed straight from jeep themselves not auto zone or advanced auto. Thus why if you're not going to help with my original question then please don't bother me with unnecessary side questions or comments. I'm not an idiot

Aaaaaand back to the thread and the helpful stuff. On the 2001 I believe the shield was part of a recall, fitted as a debris shield rather than heat shield. There was another thread recently on a similar issue. Some of the 2000/2001 guys might remember getting one. I think they were added to keep debris from building up around the injectors.
