Default Mechanical Fan vs Electric fan

Why people change the mechanical fan and replace with an electric fan? What are the benefits of the electric fan over the mechanical fan..?

less drag on the motor. better flow over the rad and a tiny increase in mpg. plus you can turn the electric fan on and off if need be

its toast I have a new one coming
we were 5 miles out one the trail
and it was leaking like crazy one of the guys had some stop leak
that slowed it down
we stop every mile to fill it up and let it cool
gator aid beer and cooler water got us back to safety

gator aid worked better than beer or water

hmm, If I put in a 3-Line radiator, switching to an electrical fan would be a much much better option.. right?
