OK, anyone feel free to let me know if this is dumb. Just got done installing a new bumper and a winch, now while driving around town the jeep is running hot. I have a feeling that the reduced airflow is aggravating a poorly performing cooling system. My plan is to flush the rad and put in a new thermostat. But what i'd like to know now is how do i know my mech. fan clutch is functioning as it should? i shut it down this morning after a 25 minute drive to work, the engine stopped and the fan kept spinning. Is this an indication that the fan clutch is not engaging when the motor is warmed up and has failed?

It should be tightish when the engine is warmed up. To check it see how easy it is to turn when cool let it start the jeep let it warm up to operating temp shut it down let set and go through a heat soak for a few mins then give a spin see how tight if its not tight replace it

Thanks, I have a feeling i'm in the market for a new fan clutch, just by how easily it spun by hand with the warmed up engine turned off. Here's another Q, it seems like the elec. fan only comes on when in Park. Ever heard of anything like that before?
