I know pepboys carry them. I got all my felpro gaskets from them. Im sure Napa carries them also. BTW for your valve cover gasket, I suggest using a rubber one. You can generally reuse the rubber gasket a few times if you ever have to remove the cover. The cork ones kinda suck and are a one time deal. Goodluck with the work though.

How long has the oil been in the engine?
I had one that was seriously neglected, 10k+ miles on the oil.
It started leaking from EVERYWHERE.
I changed the oil and the leaks seriously slowed.
Still a drip from the rear main, then the wife lost the oil cap of all things.
IT has since quit leaking altogether.
I need to replace the cap I know, but all I'm saying is is if its been neglected,
change the oil with a good oil like Rotella 15w40 and gave it time, it might
just be a little carbon/sludge buildup and the detergents in the oil might
be able to clean it up and it will quit leaking.

haha, i had a yellow one, found a black one in the JY and put that on but was a little loose but i wasnt worried. went wheeling a few times then when i was out wheeling one day i open my hood and bam, no oil cap! i was kinda rip****, so i went to advanced, bought a new one and that was loose too thought i was gunna lose that so i took some rubber roofing stuff my dad had, sandwhiched it between the gasket that comes with the cap and the top of the cap and bam, nice tight oil cap. so just an fyi when you buy a new one.

So im plnnin this out and after reading up on here I'm seeing that when I replace the oil pan gasket to go on and change the rear main seal and oil pump while iv got access. My question is what oil pump should I buy? I would like to know what the best one is in any of your opinions?

It's always smart to listen to Cruiser. Top first. Next, the O rings in the oil filter adapter harden, and oil goes everywhere, including dripping off the bottom of the bell-housing. Looks just the same as a bad rear main seal.
Like said if that vent tube from the back of the valve cover is plugged, or the hole in the deal there, that is no small issue. That and the free tube to the air cleaner prevent crankcase pressure from blowing oil out everywhere.
It's not unlikely both your seals and the pan gasket are fine.

I got 250 hits on a search here for oil filter adapter. This is the first I looked at.

Cool. Yea, you have time to think about the valve cover paint job. I'm thinking of goen camo.
I think this one is the one I'm going to add to my file for now. Short and to the point. The pics go large if you click on them. http://www.myjeepxj.com/cherokee-rep...filter-adapter.
Do make sure those vent tubes are clear, and watch that little tube from the TB up to the MAP sensor on the firewall when you pull the valve cover.
