The nice thing is that the wiring diagram gives you clues. You know a wire comes off the fuse and goes to the ASDR (you know where both the fuse and ASDR are), and the other is off the other side of the relay. Well, those numbers and letters on the "wire" will help you.

A114 is the wire identifier.
16 says it's a 16 ga. wire
DG/OR says it is a Dark Green wire with Orange stripe. (or the other way 'round) you will know when you start tracing/testing from the ASDR

So finding what S115 is/goes to will be easier than it sounds. Let the wire tell you. Take your time. If you rush, and get frustrated, someone is gonna be happy buying your Jeep with an inexpensive problem.

But this is a really good learning opportunity for you. I said it before, electrical can be frustrating, but if you can do this, it is golden knowledge you can apply elsewhere, like fixing dryers for a good profit as KD3NE does. Wiring diagrams and how you read them are pretty much the same, just the amount of components/wiring change. Heck, I had a wiring diagram of the UPS sorting hub in Ontario (300 pages-just for the conveyor control circuitry). It didn't get read any different than any other diagram. The rules still applied.

I build retaining walls and fences. I can build the best retaining wall you ever saw. I removed asbestos for 12 years. I moved furniture for years but never ever got to be a mechanic, especially electronics. At 51, to become an auto electric tech is close to impossible. I am fed up with jeeps, jeeps leave me stranded like no other vehicle has. Can you imagine going to Colorado to have fun and dealing with this jeep crap? Not me. I dont trust jeeps. I am parting out this peice of crap, im getting a Chevy or Ford and i will be the one with "JEEPS SUCK" IM BIG LETTERS ON THE BACK OF MY FORD RANGER. or Chevy love or my baha VW.
I have too much money into this xj to put any more in, its not worth it.

You think a Chevy or Ford wont Screw you?? Lets put it this way, my 50k Mile 04 Monte Carlo has been in the shop a total of 6 times in 2 years for electrical issues. If i didn't have an aftermarket warranty on it, i would be out almost 4k. No car/truck will ever be perfect, and if you seriously think that a Chevy or Ford is gonna be better well here's hoping you don't go finding Fools Gold!

A glimmer of hope. I dont have a Converter on my jeep, i dont know where the wire is that goes to the converter, would that cause the fuse to blow?

If I were you I would stop being so damn cheap and bring it to a garage. If you have so much money into this jeep as you say you do it would be worth fixing. BRING IT TO A GARAGE THAT KNOWS WTF THEY ARE DOING.

P.S. Saying Jeeps suck on a Jeep forum wont get you much help!!

It sounds to me like the clueless owner is to BLAME.. Not the JEEP.....
If you have read half the threads on here you would see you do not have the worse problems out there.... oh yea...and they get through it...
Sorry stuff like this just bother me how it is always the cars fault when you modded it...

Now back to your problem... Do you have any forum members in your area? it is hard for us to fix this kinda problem over the computer we can only point you in the right direction... I would find someone who lives close to you and has more experince to help you out with it... but we can help you out... but its hard not being there... good luck

The Rooster/RENIXBEAST, he's just frustrated. I get it. I saw it as his way of venting.

But I think your Jeep heard you. You should apologize to her. LOL

When you say "converter" I don't see that on the schematic. What are you asking about?

I bought it like that. Its been running perfect, 9 months no problems then the shut of relay decides its been long enough? Weird. every single morning i say to myself "i love my Jeep its parked outside", except the last couple days.
I LOVE JEEPS BUT I AM A DUMBASS WHEN IT COMES TO MECHANICS. There i said it. I put an ad on craigslist $200.00 reward. Im not cheap i just dont want to replace my fuel pump if i dont need a fuel pump like everybody i know said it was. Ive been down that road.

If I was anywhere near MN, I'd gladly help out. But from CA it is a LOOONG drive.

The Cat. Converter? That has nothing to do with electrical probs. No need to say you are a dumbass about anything. Each person has their strong points. Me, I couldn't do masonry if my life depended on it.

You may be un-knowledgeable in that area (auto mechanical), but not a dumbass. Heck, you had enough knowledge to find Cherokee Forum. That a huge start.
