Try unplugging the downstrean o2, then reinstall fuse and try......
I know where the sensor is but the rest of what you said is Greek to me.

If you have unplugged the O2 sensor, and it still blows, then you are going to need to be handy with a multimeter. Personally I would test from the fuse terminal (with the O2 sensor still unplugged) and start working backwards, then do the same from the other fuse terminal. You are going to need a good year-correct wiring diagram for your Jeep, a good flashlight, and pray that you are not colorblind. You are looking for continuity to ground, not voltage (12V). But chances are it is down stream from the fuse. I would also isolate any other components from the circuit. (ie: the shutdown relay). The rule of thumb - but not law- is: if it's a short, it's a wiring problem. If it is a no voltage - check connectors and components.

Electrical can make you pull your hair out. But be patient with it and very thorough. Don't just jump around and start testing everything, you get lost.

Another thought just came to mind......could it be in the steering column? I would have to pull my diagram out and see if the circuit is associated with the wiring in the column.

The fuse blows when i turn the key, without turning the engine. The engine turns over fine.

Im not much of a machanic but. I took the collar off the steering column and checked all those wires, took some time to get the tape off. I dont see any wore out wires and connections look good. lol I shave my head so i cant pull my hair out.

I am frustrated because this is my third XJ and my third XJ with electrical problems that leave me stranded.

I read that post and everything is the same as his except my fuse worked 2 times, the first time it lasted 2 days, the second time it ran for 3 minutes, it hasnt run since. I do have a remote starter and looked at that and disconnected it, it turns over good but the fuse keeps blowing.
