i think so. from my understanding the pumpkins have the same internals and the axles are different for each application.

My understanding is that Detroit Lockers have two different carriers - one for ratios up to 3.55 and another for ratios up to 4.89 (or something like that).

Also, my understanding is that the origianl Locker was made for Ford 9" axles ONLY. It was many, many years before TracTech, the company, built Lockers for other axle designs and that each axle requires a different carrier, etc.

I could be wrong, but that is what I heard.

Close but backwards. example is that the D35 has to different carriers one for gears 3.55 and numericaly lower and one for gears 3.73 and numericaly higher. This causes the Locker manufactures to have to build 2 different lockers to fit all d35 axles.

Hypothetical:
Another thing to watch is that some axles, say D44 and others, are used by many different car mfgs. The D44 housing, pumpkin, tubes and gear diameters will be the same. But the axels can be wider or narrower and have different spline counts and bolt paterns. So this mean that locker for D44 can be the same size. Because the spline counts may differ. There may be several different lockers available for the same axel from the same locker maker..
