Hello I am some what new to this. I just put frnt and rear d44 out of a 89 waggy into my 96xj and was wondering what it takes to convert the hubs to warn manual locking hubs and if i did this, since im only running 33s till i can save up money for gears and lockers if i could weld up the front gears. Its not a daily driver but i still drive on the streets some times. Would this work? Thanks you for all opinions

The locking hubs thing is easy, just buy them and bolt them on. As far as welding spider gears, I am not a fan of doing that in any rig. But it is cheap. On the other hand you have to throw away the carrier when done. I don't like welding fronts due to steering issues even off road. It will just want to go straight instead of turning unless traction is good, then you will be fighting the steering wheel.
putting a spool in the front is the same exact thing as welding the carrier together except there is no worries about welds breaking.. spools are under 200 buck, but i would still suggest against putting one in the front.i would go with like a powertrax no slip that will open up when turning.. but completely stay locked when in a straight line
