Hi guys, I just picked up a new (to me) jeep - 1992 2dr 5-speed, everything runs great, but when I was looking under the hood, i noticed a slack cable on the throttle body. On an automatic cherokee this cable would be the tranny kickdown cable, but I can't figure out what it is on mine. The cable heads to a small cylinder right behind the battery. Everything seems to drive fine, but I'd like to figure out what this is. Anyone have an idea or can speak from experience?

that's it for sure, thanks. is the slack just drawn up when the cruise control is activated?

 

Yep

 

A kickdown cable is used so the trans knows when to shift.But yeah its a cruise control cable if anything.
