Power steering. Any weird groans coming from the front end?

Does it get harder to turn the wheel when it happens? Your steering box might be getting bound up or something along those lines. Have you had anyone look underneath when you do it to see what is actually happening?

how would the power steering cause the engine to loose power and give a backshot out the tail pipe?

when urning almost feels like the fuel/air is getting ****ed and bogginf down, then when i step on it it back fires....

I'm not sure. Sounds odd! Unless your motor is idling low and when you turn the power steering pump takes power causing your engine to sputter and tries to die.

I had a friend run into a similar problem. He bought a cherokee for $200 that was stalling in town every time it went around a roundabout. Would start back up once it was going in a straight line. PO couldn't figure it out and wanted to get rid of it. It ended up being a frayed spark plug wire. Every time it went around a left hand corner the wire would hit the block and short, stalling the vehicle. This is the only thing I've heard of that is close to what you are describing. Might want to check spark plug wires and distributor? Could be another unrelated wire too. Good luck
