If you change the radiator it's a perfect time to add a ZJ Napa clutch fan I will be upgrading to this in the near future. Napa part number is 272310. Cool Max will not fit.

Regular Champion copper plugs are the ticket for your 93. Get the premium wires, cap and rotor (with brass contacts, not aluminum). And a tube of dielectric grease for inside of both ends of the plug wires.

If you are doing radiator and the water pump is old, I usually replace that at the same time you have everything drained down. And the thermostat as well. 195 degree.

I'd try to get an NTK oxygen sensor; they are the company that provides sensors for the XJ (91 and newer) New serp belt if necessary.

Can't think of anything else offhand unless you have symptoms.

You are doing the right thing by performing comprehensive maintenance. With maintenance, it's pay me now, or pay me MORE later. I prefer to pay now.

I'll look into that. do they sell at napa?
yeah I figured I should spend my money there before anywhere else
at 118,000 miles it runs amazing. idles perfect with no vibration or weird hiccups
but it starts rough from sitting for 2 years. I need to flush it, replace the head gasket, and tune up and hopefully it starts nice and smooth

another symptom is a whirring at low rpms that goes away with acceleration.
sounds like a bearing or some other part of the pulley system. ideas? serp is good tho

If u replace hoses, radiator, t-stat and water pump, u only have to drain/refill coolant once, otherwise, it'll be multiple drain/refills.

......and as suggested, replace the fan clutch.

That appears to be the proper application of NTK oxygen sensor for your 93.

I'd check to see if Napa has them and what their price is. Otherwise, that one would be fine and you can check RockAuto's online catalog as well.

little update
so I actually went and looked under my hood and everythings been tuned up very recently
like stealership quality.. you think the PO wouldve mentioned a recent tuneup?
well that frees up some play money

still need:
radiator (small leak), water pump, B&M trans cooler, zj fan clutch, 195 tstat
possible 02 sensor

want:
spectre cowl induction and neon injectors
was thinking about pulling my own injectors and cleaning them up..

SYMPTOMS:: still have a rough start! suggestions? I hate it

Jeep Cherokee startup - YouTube=
does it just take a few seconds
turn ur key on for a few seconds to allow the fuel system to prime before cranking the engine that should help with cold starts

I'll try that out. not really. If I had to describe it I'd say it turns over just fine without a long crank period
it just cranks hard and catches.. rough haha. then runs smooth

what do you guys think of MSD ignition upgrades?
was looking through brians old thread because I liked his budget engine upgrades
