Just purchased a 96 Cherokee Country w/142,000 on the clock. Body really straight but interior was where the pig lived. Since the interior was neglected I'm sure the suspension etc was also. Has oil filter adaptor leak, had to put new rotors on front, rear axle seals and I'm pretty sure it wasn't maintained properly. I'm thinking u joints, ball joints, bearings etc etc should all be replaced. What do you guys suggest ... want to make it really reliable. Doesn't seem to "clunk" when going into gear but what would it cost to put all new u joints, ball joints, bearings etc in and make it perfect underneath?

best way to know is get under there and start checking things out. you gonna end up buying suspension tools like a fork and things, but they arent that expensive. go throught the under carriage. you dont want to waste money but you do want to spend it on what you need. how do the motormounts look. trans mount? so on and so on. you gotta get under her and start rattling things around.
or take it to a suspension shop and let them ummmmm take care of it.
