So after my last outing, I pushed my XJ so hard that I ended up eventually snapping my lugs off my hub. It happened today, but I think the trails a week ago pushed it too far. 2 lugs remain. I also have a 1.5'' spacer and 33x12.50 tires, so that definitely didn't help. How would I go about repairing this? And would it be wise to eliminate the spacers and go with better rims with the proper BS? If so, what are some decent, cheap options?
Thanks

yeah, it was probably your spacers that caused that. take the brake rotor off and you can hammer the old studs out and get new ones at the auto parts store. cragar wheels are always a nice cheap option. summitracing.com has all sorts of variety on them.
and just for fun, here's my cragars. they're the V5's

replace ALL of them with ARP studs.
As for getting the old off, new in. take the brake rotor off. hit old ones with BFH and they 'should' pop out.
Getting new ones in can be done with hammer, deep socket and patience, but I prefer a press.

From my experience spacers didn't work well. I also run 33"x12.5"x15" the rims never mattered to me but I did go with steel off road rims. You should be able to pop the lugs out with a torch an hammer or take to tire shop for a few bucks they'll replace them. Mine was pressed in so hard to get in an out without press. Best luck

For what it's worth, this might have been what caused it lol.

I was going back and forth in this hole for a couple minutes, telling my buddies t put away their ropes. I was the second guy to go through, the first guy, with the 6.5'' lift got stuck, I pulled him out, he made it through. I went through and destroyed it. My wide tires and back and forth made the path so wide that everyone behind me flew through lol.

Could they be stock? I bought the XJ over a year ago, I haven't replaced them, and the previous owner didn't mention anything, so.. How much would new runs one? And would they be the same size, or could I get wider ones to eliminate my spacer? Or am I thinking ridiculously?

Need new wheels to remove the spacers. Maybe they weren't tight enough? What spacers are you running? I know a few people that run them with no problems. And I would run them if I needed to.

Alright. I'm looking at new wheels, just trying to find out the best BS for 33x12.50s. The spacers were put on tight, checked after the first 500 miles, and honestly didn't check after that, and it's been about 6 months at least? So it's a possibility. They're Rugged Ridge. They look fine, good condition right now. Just bad luck/poor maintenance I guess.
