They look fine, good condition right now. Just bad luck/poor maintenance I guess.

Is anything wallowed out? Lug holes, spacer holes? Any rust spots around the lug holes?
What backspacing do you have now? How wide are the spacers? Subtract from original backspacing and boom.

I couldn't do a thorough check since it was dark out and I only had a flashlight, I'll check tomorrow. I also don't know what my BS is now. The rims came with the XJ, so.. The spacers are 1.5''. I'm decently trimmed, and I'm rubbing at max turning.

Thanks

Thats a good question and answer. If the spacers are wallowed out you had loose nuts(lol)

Spacer has been removed. New wheel studs have been put in, and the noise obviously went away. Maybe it's because I've been driving a Patriot with tight brakes, but it feels like I have play in my brakes.. Didn't leak any fluid, both bolts went back on the caliper. Could it be just me?

Oh, and here's the spacer:

What do you want to know?

Yes, it could be you.

We can't look over your brakes for you.

Well I was wondering if it's happened before to anyone, as well as the condition of the spacer, since someone was wondering what it looked like and I told them I'd respond back with a picture of it. So my brake issue doesn't sound too serious then? I figured if it was serious someone would be able to know from what I said, but if it sounds normal, then I guess it's just me.

That happened to me once with a spacer. **** happens, you should have noticed it was loose before it got bad enough to blow all your lugs off.

I should have. My mistake was when I originally installed them, I was living somewhere that I could work on my Jeep whenever I wanted. Now I live somewhere that I can't and can only do emergency work like this. Did the spacer just come loose, or did I push my XJ too hard last time I was out? Or possibly a mix of both?

I'll be buying properly backspaced rims soon. Also, I couldn't take the other spacer off last night, off the tire that's fine, since I ran out of time and didn't plan on driving the XJ for a little anyway. But during my test drive after I took it off, aside from the play in the brakes, my XJ pulled to the left (spacer came off passenger right). And it looked like the right side was lower. Did taking the spacer off make it uneven?

It came loose, I can't tell you exactly why, but it wasn't because you were "wheeling too hard." I didn't put loctite on the first time around, so I learned my lesson. Thankfully I was able to tell they were loose and was able to fix it before it did anything bad. Ordered a new spacer to replace the one that wallowed out, and took all my old ones off, CLEANED THE STUDS AND NUTS, then applied red loctite. Never had an issue after that. Lost it won't work on parts covered with dirt or assembly lube.

Yes, it will cause a pull without the one spacer. And it wouldn't lower your jeep, it just looks that way.

Op some of the holes in that spacer are wallowed out. You either need to put threadlock on them or at least check them like once a month. You'll hear a slight grinding sound I'd they are loose. And that play you felt was probably also because they were loose.

The spacer is trash now.

Thanks for this!

I'm taking the other spacer off today. I'll deal with the rubbing (even though I still rubbed with them on) and I don't plan on wheeling any time soon. But like mentioned before, I'll be replacing the rims. What's the ideal BS for 33x12.50s? Someone said to find my BS now and then calculate or something, but I don't know what rims the previous owner put on, so I'll get new ones and sell these.

Thanks guys

Measure your backspacing. Then you subtract what width the spacers were. I run 4 in backspacing and have no rubbing issues. Depends on where you're rubbing. Lcas? Less backspacing. Fenders? Trim.
