Default Lug Nut/Stud Problem

hey yall...
Ok so here is my problem....Yesterday i was driving on the high way got about 70-75 not sure and it was driving fine...i got off my exit and i started hearing a loud!! clinking noise...I stopped and it was my front left tire...that was about to fall off cause the lug nuts were loose...i tried to tighten them and they wouldn't turn...so i got home and tried to take them off...I managed to take 3 off break a stud cause one wouldn't turn and i still have one on there that every time i try to loose it up the whole stud turns..my guess is that i broke it from the inside ..i am not sure...Any ideas on what happen or how i cant fix this problem??
Thanks jon
PS: here are some pictures of the nuts i took off..

Get new studs at a parts store and put those in.

Are you saying the lug nuts loosened themselves then seized onto the studs? I have no idea how that happened....craziness...

That's enough room to get a sawzall blade in there and cut it off. Sounds like you only recourse at this point.

You might have to bite it off and get some torches.

Fry the studs out from the center of the lugs.
Are the lugs the capped kind?
Or can you see the stud in the middle?

If you can see the stud- drilling might work also.

You might even contemplate using a Dremel-

You can get a 20$ complete set (high speed rotary tool) from Harbor Freight. Might not be a bad investment- but please... USE EYE PROTECTION... Things cut off with a 20,000 rpm tool tend to shoot off into the distance at about 50 mph-

thats probally going to be his best bet unless you can get some needle noses or channel locks behind their to grip the stud

I had a very similar situation. After trying various things- this is what I did.

I used a dremel and some highspeed diamond or tungsten cutting bits.

I sat there and dremeled and dremeled, and then dremeled some more. My plan was to cut off the lugnut itsself, rather than try to get to the stud.

It takes alot of time, patients, and profanity, but it did work for me. I was out of options...

.....and other time I had a cap rip off and the nut round off to an extreme level (stud was still secured in place). I drilled the stud out. Be sure to use coolant if you try to drill out a stud!!! They're pretty tough. -as previously stated- this may only work if you can visegrips on the stud collar (not very much to bite onto though)..
