Default Lucas Transmission Fix

Hokay, so. My AX-15 is pretty notchy. There's almost no synchro left on 1st, if you're new to shifting it you could probably cause an accident with 2nd, even 3rd sometimes is a pain. It had what I think was its first oil change ever this past winter.

Normally I'm extremely skeptical of Lucas products, and other oil additives. I've played with the demos (lol) and payed attention to what actually happens with aerated oil with their regular oil stabilizer.

Recently this stuff kind of grabbed my attention. I see it being recommended elsewhere online by some reputable people as helping worn manuals. I even see specific recommendations for this application by a garage that sees a lot of Jeeps in the southern part of the province.

I'd love to run Redline MT-90. It's expensive and impossible to source around here. I can't even find Pennzoil or Castrol Synchromesh. The only lube I can find that is remotely appropriate is ACDelco Synchromesh, and while it's better than the black water that was in there before, it's definitely thinner than 75W90.

What I'm going to try this weekend is an oil change with the 1 bottle of Lucas Transmission goo and top it off with the ACDelco stuff. I'm hoping that it'll thicken up the ACDelco enough to make it more tolerable and feel less like I'm going to need to pull over to pick up my synchro collars lol. I know it's a cheap bandaid but I've got more pressing things to spend money on than a rebuilt AX-15

Anybody else ever try this?

I think you use ATF in the manual transmission, but I could be wrong.

EDIT; I was wrong, 75-90wt oil is recommended.
