drain plug

ruff stuff must have read your post just my 8.25 ruff stuff diff cover he has drilled and tapped a drain hole in the bottom of the cover he included 3 allen head drain plugs with gaskets. I haven't installed it yet but am planning on the install tommorow.

Had a 97 tj with ax15 my synros were attacked and had to be replaced you need red line mtl gear oil www.myoilshop.com is where I got mine. Also can use pennzoil syncromesh got this at napa auto

I run 7176 in the 231. Which, if im not mistaken, is just a chrysler mixture of ATF and other additives. Any ideas on this?

Never heard of 7176 but the owners manual and the FSM both say Dextron.

Sorry bout that Blue, On the shelf, 7176 is marked ATF +4.

There are other fluids out there also that still meet the GL-4 spec. Last time I looked Penzoil Syncromesh was gone from Napa. Might have been just my local 'never have anything, but we can order it' Auto Parts.

I don't think there would be a problem in the T-case, due to it being chain driven. But there have been problems with AW-4's getting +4 after being run with Dexron II or III (no T Blue). One or more of the additives in the +4 don't play well with the tranny after its had Dex III in it.
