Lower radiator brace?
I have not found anything on this part so i can only assume it is a parts yard only piece?
There is/was a brace or bracket or whatever it is called affixed to the bottom of the radiator (plastic/aluminum of unknown brand) on my 97. It is the part the fan shrouds clip to. There is little left of it other than the two pins at the bottom which are still stuck to the crossmember. Is the part in question a universal part between the various radiator brands, or is this a proprietary piece of some sort? As best i can tell there are two screws or bolts at each end of the radiator, so it would appear this part is removeable. But thats as far as i have got with it.
Thanks.

The radiator I took out and the replacement had the holds for the fan shrouds already in them. Your problem is that you need the place for the bottom of your shrouds? Might have to use your fab skills if you don't want to install a new radiator.

Yes, thats the part. My entire brace crumbled, there is nothing left but a 3" piece and those two pins. Is it a universal part between radiator brands, or proprietary to each brand? I plan on hitting a parts yard for other stuff and was hoping i could add this to the list. Just have to find the right one. Unless it is a one size fits all sort of thing. That would be fantastic.
Fabrication did cross my mind. For all of 2 seconds. I never had the patience for that sort of thing.

get some of those zip-strips from the rot-o-zone or advanced-rot-o... like a zip tie but with padded circular ends- made for mounting things through heat exchanges, and hang you fan and be done with it... given, when i've used them i DID double up on top (where most the weight is) and just use the bottom ones to keep the efans tight..

Zipties are awesome, but they are not for me. Not for this. I would still be left with an unsupported radiator with that brace missing along the bottom. It was suggested elsewhere that i stuff an old radiator hose under it, using zipties. Nope, thats not happening either. It isnt being driven right now so there is no real rush. I will just compare radiators at the parts yard to see what all is out there concerning that brace.
